Egyptian Produce for Gulf Importers, Wholesalers, and Distributors

Cairo Fields supplies Gulf buyers with Egyptian oranges, potatoes, onions, garlic, tomatoes, grapes, and spring onion. Documentation, packing, and logistics coordinated from packhouse to port.

The Gulf market is Cairo Fields’ most active export destination. Saudi Arabia, UAE, Kuwait, Qatar, Oman, and Bahrain together represent consistent high-volume demand for Egyptian produce across multiple crop categories and seasons.

The key factors Gulf buyers focus on are documentation accuracy, labelling compliance, product consistency, and cold chain continuity. SFDA requirements for Saudi Arabia are detailed and updated periodically — programs for Saudi buyers require careful pre-season documentation review. UAE buyers typically operate through wholesale market intermediaries or central purchasing units for major retail chains.

Common Gulf buyer program structures:

  • Full container programs for a single crop (oranges, potatoes, or onions) on a weekly or fortnightly basis through the season
  • Mixed-load containers for buyers who need multiple Egyptian vegetables in a single shipment
  • Seasonal produce programs across two or more crops with different windows (for example, onions from February–June and potatoes from October–December)

Transit from Egypt to Gulf ports is typically 5–8 days via reefer container depending on the port of discharge. This is manageable for most Egyptian export crops if cold chain is maintained from packhouse to port.

Cairo Fields coordinates all Gulf-bound exports through Alexandria Port or Port Said, working with nominated or independent freight forwarders based on buyer preference.

Market Requirements

Packing, documentation, and delivery for Gulf buyers

Packing

Carton format and sizing to buyer or retail chain specification. Saudi SFDA label requirements, UAE municipality mark, and destination-specific labelling handled during packing. Wooden pallets, plastic pallets, or slip-sheet to buyer and container type.

Documentation

Phytosanitary certificates issued by Egypt MOPMAR. Commercial invoice, packing list, certificate of origin (Arab League CoO for Gulf destinations). Fumigation certificates where required by destination country. Halal is not applicable to fresh produce but all relevant food safety documentation is prepared.

Destination Requirements

Saudi SFDA import requirements are the most stringent in the Gulf — we review SFDA product specifications and documentation standards for each program. UAE municipality and port health requirements are handled as part of standard documentation preparation.
